So, we need to tell you about something we’re working on: The Asbury Rockstars Charity Softball Game!

Our dear drummer Sarah has talked Eddie and I into getting very wasted and playing softball in order to raise money for a well-investigated charity, the American Auto-Immune Related Diseases Association. It wasn’t hard. But we feel very strongly that this is a worthy charity, and are looking forward to helping our team captain Lindsey Miller (The Amboys are on our team, hilarity will ensue) 1) raise as much money as we can and 2) beat the living crap out of everyone else.

To make that first goal possible, we need your help. Can you kick in a few dollars? We’ve never hit you up for donations before, so please give it some thought. To further convince you, Lady Boom-Boom has put together a synopsis of why we’re doing this and the charity we’re supporting. It’s quite personal.

From Sarah and Lindsey:

Dearest Teamates,

As you know, our team is playing for the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Charity. For those who may not know, auautoimmunity is essentially when a misdirected immune system begins to attack its self, eventually breaking the body down. What you may not know, is that Lindsey and myself have personal ties to these diseases, including the loss my father to Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lindsey’s mothers current struggle with Multiple Sclerosis.

50 million Americans (1 in 5), currently suffer from one of the 100 autoimmune diseases that include: Lupus, type 1 diabetes, scleroderma, celiac, multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s disease, autoimmune hepatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, Graves’ disease, myasthenia gravis, myositis, antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), Sjogren’s syndrome, uveitis, polymyositis, Raynaud’s phenomenon, and demyelinating neuropathies.

I want to assure you we did our research on this national nonprofit org before we committed, and felt this one was legit. I used a charity navigator to see percentage of $$ breakdown, the presidents back rounds and income, if clinics were held for families and patients of the disease, (and for this specific charity , pharmaceuticals vrs holistic healing).

EVERYONE HITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

love and kisses,

S & L
